I had to share a proud crafting mom moment. The kindergarten class had to create a scrapbook page about themselves for school this week. Colin helped pick out all of the photos, drew his own picture, and signed his name for his page. (I had to cheat a little and help with the organization!) LOVE it! :)

Fancy Pants Designs Projects.

Today is my article day at A Cherry on Top! For my monthly Creative Team Reveal, I've used Fancy Pants Designs new Happy Together collection! An absolutely stunning collection using a gorgeous blue and brown color scheme. You could make this line work for any project that you have to create!  For a complete look at the article and a full view of the products that I've used, click here to view the article. 

This first layout is absolutely one of my favorites that I've created in the last few months. Mainly, this photograph is one of my favorites of my son. A few ago, we took a day trip to Plymouth to enjoy the gorgeous weather and to soak in the last days of summer. We ate lunch at the WeatherDeck looking over at the water, played at the sand bottom playground, and spent an hour walking on the beach looking for shells and crabs. I took this photo of  Colin while he was so enthralled looking for the crab that got away. 

On the layout, I've used the Happy Together Journaling Book, Glitter Die-cuts, Tags and Titles, Rub-on's, and hand cut embellishments from various patterned papers. I added machine stitching, KaiserCraft pearls in Chocolate, and the title is from Little Yellow Bicycle clear stickers. 

 

 

This layout also uses all Happy Together goodies! For this layout, I really wanted to use the Printed Transparency and the gorgeous Glitter Cuts. Instead of using the entire transparency, I cut out a few pieces and used it to layer around the base of my photo. The glitter cut is the entire flower embellishment used in the upper right hand corner of the layout. The die-cut background that I created was cut from the Happy Hauntings Cricut cartridge. I've also used Elements Stickers, Tags and Titles, and one of the 5"x8" journaling book pages. 

 

 

In August, we had a family birthday party for three of us who all have birthdays within 4 days of each other. I was fortunate to capture a terrific photo of my daughter, Lauren, with my in-laws! I NEVER get good photos of them so this was such a victory for me!

For this layout, I've used Happy Together Tags and titles, the flocked transparency, Element Stickers, and 2 of the Journaling book pages.

Turning 6.

My baby turned 6 years old yesterday. Truly unbelievable.  He has been talking about his birthday for over a month and his day was finally here. If you were the bus driver, next door neighbor, teacher, or anyone else, he would have told you himself! Love that kid! Even though it has been a long time since I turned six, I still get that giddy over my birthday. I just don't tell everyone. lol. So, I got to sit back yesterday and smile thinking about how incredible it was watching his excitement. It makes everyday stresses seem so small. It is one of the little things in life that I will always treasure.

One of the things that I love about my kids school is that the kids create cards for each other on their birthdays. Colin hopped off the bus and immediately dumped out his bag of cards to start reading them. So fun!

Right now, Colin is crazy about Batman and Spiderman. I did a combination of decorations for him. Batman cake and Spiderman decorations.

Maybe next year, I'll have better luck getter a natural smile instead of the cheesy fake grin! :)

 

 

 

 

Hanover Park and Recreation - New Card Classes

Well, after abandoning my blog and taking a hiatus from teaching craft classes, I'm thrilled to be jumping back into it! Everyone needs a bit of a break now and then.  I needed a bit of time to refresh and get back to a creative place. I've been creating like a crazy woman and I'm so excited to start teaching again!

With the start of the new school year, Lauren is in second grade and Colin has officially started kindergarten. We are already adjusting to the school and activity schedule. Technically, I'm supposed to have have more time to myself during the day to get everything done, but you how that goes! 

I've already scheduled 11 classes from now until the end of year. I'm thrilled to be partnering with the Hanover Park and Recreation to host monthly card and scrapbooking classes. I'll be posting photos as soon as they are ready to go! I'll also be teaching 3 classes at Ink About It in Westford, MA in November and December.

If you are in the local area and are interested in taking any of these classes, you can sign up online through the Hanover Park and Recreation department. Click on the links of the class titles and it will take you directly to the page for registration. "Make a Wish Birthday Card Class"

In this class, we'll be creating 5 fabulous cards for birthdays! Using the new Fancy Pants “It’s Your Day” collection, we’ll create some fabulously fun cards using balloons, cakes, and candles. We’ll use polka dots, stripes and colors in fabulous shades of blue, orange, red, yellow and green with journaling cards, elements stickers, glitter, jewels and ribbon. Ink About It Classes this Saturday!

We'll be using gorgeous new Prima products including new die-cut and signs of spring papers, collage stamps, die-cut felt, flirty little secret journaling cards, flocked transparencies,  lace, pearls and of course flowers! For good measure, we'll also be playing with glimmer mist and glitter. In this class, you will also be receiving one of Prima's new collage stamps to take home with you! Please bring adhesive, scissors, and light/dark brown inks to class. Class is $28.00

        

Prima Layout Class  - Sat May 9th from 1-4pm

Join me in creating (3) 12x12 layouts using various new products from Prima including stunning stitched mulberry paper and various die-cut papers, die-cut felt, collage stamps, jewels, lace, and flowers! Layouts will feature spring colors such as pink, blue, green, yellow and orange. You can customize the titles of your pages using the Prima whisper felt alphabet letters included in your kit.  You will also learn how to transform ordinary white flowers into pieces of art with glimmer mist, paint, stamps, pearls and jewels. Please bring adhesive, scissors, and light/dark brown inks to class. Class is $33.00.

I thought I would share some fun photos that we took the other day using the computer! If you have an imac, I used Photobooth as they were looking into the webcam on the computer. The kids could have done this for hours. LOL. Isn't technology amazing?

Using the look of mirror's in a fun house, this was definitely Colin's favorite! Me...not so much! LOL.

No school for both of my kiddos today. So, we are off to a playdate! Enjoy the day!
